USACE, the Nation’s largest generator of hydropower owns, operates, and maintains 75 power-producing dams in 16 US states. These projects are overseen by 16 individual District Commands within 5 geographically dispersed Divisions. In an organization this large and dispersed, identifying and implementing process improvements is a complex endeavor. Since 2018, Sapere has worked with USACE to define, lead, and implement change. In partnership with leaders in U.S. hydropower, Sapere conceptualized, built, and now operates a non-profit to further digital transformation in the industry. Technologically, Sapere architected, developed, and continues to develop features and functionality of the digital platform used. Sapere defined internal and external operational processes for operations, onboarding, and customer support.
Investing in new technology is easy. Doing so wisely is not. Our client knew they were ready for change, but engaged Sapere to harness our knowledge of strategy, technology, and energy to define the roadmap. From defining and operationalizing their CapX and digital transformation strategies - to executing demonstration projects to prove out new methods of leveraging data and artificial intelligence, they turned to Sapere. Sapere continues to work with the client to define the cultural changes required to operationalize longer term changes.
