Sapere Consulting, Inc. led the software development team for storage solutions industry leader, Seagate, and wireless network giant Verizon, in the creation of the award-winning 4G LTE mobile device. The ensuing prototype blends the power of a pre-existing WiFi-enabled hard drive with 4G LTE. Users can setup mobile hotspots, download content directly to the hard drive and use the drive to buffer streaming video for optimal playback. This first-of-a-kind storage device also has remote-access capabilities built-in so users can access its content anytime from anywhere.

Breaking from tradition of developing technologies in-house, Seagate looked to Sapere to partner on this product's development. Sapere identified how to effectively extend "the cloud" using 4G LTE to provide the best user experience by overlaying portable personal storage with the always-on capabilities of the cloud. Additionally, Sapere conducted market research to identify product capabilities and then meticulously guided the concept through the new product development life-cycle. Our expertise working on embedded systems proved invaluable in smoothly maneuvering product development stages over the hurdles between proof-of-concept and beta-release.

For Seagate, hiring Sapere was the winning formula – resulting in Seagate's 4G LTE Personal Server being honored in LAPTOP Magazine's "Best of CES 2012" (Storage Device Category). It was also a named Finalist for CNET's "Best of CES 2012" award.
