Professional Experience

Mr. Purdom has over 40 years of experience in the electric utility industry, ultimately working at the highest level of senior management.  In his early utility career, Mr. Purdom worked in environmental and regulatory affairs as well as project management. In over 25 years working at a hydroelectric utility Mr. Purdom has headed the utility's electric, water and wastewater distribution systems; the power management sector; external affairs, including regulatory, environmental and governmental affairs; as well as administrative functions such as information technology, real estate, purchasing and warehousing.  Mr. Purdom led the utility's transition into the deregulated world of power resources.  He also led the utility's efforts to negotiate and implement an outcome-based approach to endangered Columbia River salmon regulation.  The approach established performance metrics for salmon survival and freed the utility to choose which means to achieve those metrics.  The program has been in place for a decade and resulted in significant cost savings for the utility.

Mr. Purdom attended the University of Illinois, majoring in architecture, and holds a B.A. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Washington. His core skill set includes: Project and Program Management; Regulatory and Policy Analysis; and Decision Engineering.
